A material handler is a wheeled excavator configured for lifting and sorting rather than bulk digging: usually a grab or grapple instead of a bucket, a raised cab, and a counterweight matched to the attachment.
Typical work is timber, scrap, waste, ports and recycling yards. Because the load hangs away from the machine, lifting capacity and stability matter more than dig depth. Do not assume a digging machine with a grab fitted is a true material handler; check the boom, counterweight and rated capacity.
